My name is Jessica. All my friends call me Jess and my family calls me Jessie. I answer to any of those, so you can call me which ever you prefer. I  am from Carrington, North Dakota. It’s a really small town (population: 2,500). And to answer all your questions I know you have burning in your heart, yes we do have indoor plumbing, electricity and running water. Every time I travel south people seriously ask me how cold it is to go to the outhouse in the middle of winter. I am currently going to college at the University of North Dakota (Sioux, Yeah, Yeah!!) which is in Grand Forks, ND. I am a junior and currently in the RN BSN nursing program. After is finish my RN BSN, I am going to move on to advance practice and specialize in midwifery and OB/GYN. 

I work two jobs. One is at Jenny Craig as a weight loss consultant, which has been such a huge blessing! God has really given me an opportunity to speak life into these women to realize their beauty on the inside and touch them on an issue that every girl struggles with. I also work in private home health care doing overnight assistance. Even though i do work these two jobs, my parents always offer to help me with everything (seriously I have the GREATEST parents EVER). In total I usually work about 75 hours a week plus I’m a full time student. 

In my free time I really love to just hang out with my family and friends. I don’t get to see them often so it’s a blessing to be around them. I love to be outdoors and doing anything active. I grew up a farm girl so I love to get messy and work hard!! I am also currently training to run my first full marathon in May..which is not really a hobby but rather a goal I’ve always wanted to accomplish and I am a leader in Chi Alpha here at my college, which is a Christian fellowship group. 

I really love to cooking/baking and cleaning. I know your probably confused on why I like to clean... It’s a nurse thing and it’s really therapeutic. The only thing i hate doing is taking out garbage. I would seriously rather clean the toilet. My strongest talent that the Lord has given me is the ability to handle really nasty situations. It’s really hard to gross me out or give me a task I can’t handle. I was a CNA for a long time (and still am) and so I’m use to it all. Also, I am pursing nursing to be a medical missionary to underdeveloped countries. God has just given me and incredible passion to go and give free healthcare to people around the world and to show them His amazing love and grace. 

I have never been on a “missions” trip before, but my mission has always been everywhere I have. God has taught me so much about loving people where they are and just being a light to them. It’s been such a sweet ride ever since I have given my life to Christ and I am seriously excited for everything he has coming my way!!
